Accident on shore,
Dysentery.


Jumping overboard,
Supposed suicide.


Fell from aloft,
Apoplexy.


Falling down the hold,
Consumption.


Fell overboard and was drowned,
Drowning.


Supposed to be drowned,
Drowning…

Note: These 12 causes of death are from one page of the official records of such events in Scotland for the month of November 1898. I have merely rearranged them.
