Kebock Head or A’ Chabag

I wrote previously about how the Crest came to be wrecked off Kebock Head on the Isle of Lewis and thought that I’d add a couple of links.
The first is to three recent photographs of the headland as seen from the sea – a fearsome sight!:

The second is a dramatic account from 1925 of the sort of seas that face sailors in the area

by Alasdair Alpin MacGregor.

I don’t know when the light was installed at Kebock Head so if anyone does, please get in touch!

Note: Modern Mariners have access to information such as this: http://www.anchorageworld.com/content/kebock-head
